Building Protean in public
Protean is eight years of work by one person, and for most of that time it was built quietly. This dev-log changes that. From here to the launch and past it, the work happens in the open: what shipped this week, what broke, what a real system taught the framework, and the decisions behind the release.
The reason is simple. A framework is only half code. The other half is whether a stranger can pick it up, understand it, and build something real. That half is built in public or not at all.
Expect short, frequent posts: a changelog with the story attached, a note on a rough edge and its fix, an essay when an idea is worth the space. If you want the argument behind the whole project, the whitepaper is the place to start.
